I liked working with my hands and liked working with people so it kind of became a natural fit for me. I’ve always been pretty mechanical and along that line. So I grew up on a farm and we had boats and we had to fix our own so I’m used to working in kind of what used to be tight spaces and in the mouth and dealing with the public. So that kind of led to each other, just a lot of mechanical type working, like I said, with my hands.
When I was in college, I think it was between my junior and senior years in college, I went to UK for a pre-dent, pre-med, pre-pharmacy, and it was for two months. And during the summer they had us explore the dental school, dental students, dentists, medical, MD doctors, surgeons, OBGYNs, all of the above, and pharmacy. And so we spent two months, 8:00 to 5:00, doing all of that. So that further cemented my passion to become a dentist.
When I’m able to deliver, like, the smile, health that the patients want, the healthy mouth, and the consequence of they get the look they want as well, that is my favorite part. I’m kind of a continuing education junkie. It gives them more options. And we’re glad that even though we’re here in Paducah, Kentucky, we can give them care the same as if they’re in LA, Nashville, New York, or any place else because I’ve trained under all of them.
