When I got to the chair, every time just about, they would put the blood pressure thing or whatever on you, and say, “Well, just sit there for a few minutes first, because mine would usually be a little high due to the dental anxiety. But once I got into the process with them and knew their process, I didn’t have as much anxiety anytime. So it got better as we went along. But yeah, very comfortable.
The sedation dentistry is very good. I’ve never had a lot of anxiety about shots in my mouth, so that’s never really bothered me. But he’s a very good shot-giver. And just everything was good. It was pretty… My whole process did not have a lot of pain involved.
I know I have dental anxiety and I thought that would make the process easier. I never, like I said, went to a dentist that had sedation dentistry as an option, but that made me feel a lot better about what I was going to go through. And they explained that fully. When I first came in, we did a walk-through, they did x-rays, he pointed out to me, “This is what needs fixing, you know, this, this, and this. We’re going to make you a plan, give you a quote.” We did sedation dentistry, which was included in my quote. And you just know everything from the front end and the length of time that’s involved.

I would consider this to be a five-star dental practice. And what I base that on, as I said earlier, is the art and science of what I see in Dr. Hay’s work. I had Lumineers put on my teeth in 2008, so I’m still enjoying my smile and it made a big difference to me. I like my smile. My teeth were fairly straight, but I had the curvature at the corners. And when I saw… I think some of the staff had already gotten theirs, and I was like, “Wow, that really looks good.” And so I invested in that and I haven’t been sorry a day, but anybody will tell you that… We had a dental hygiene program at the college where I taught, and the program coordinator saw my teeth first, she said, “They are gorgeous,” and I said, “Thank you. I think so too.”

He removed some teeth and put the bone graft in and then I come back and started on the implants. You know, and we did them a couple at a time. So each one took a little while to heal before, you know, you could actually finish the tooth out. So it was probably like a year process getting everything done, you know, just so they’d heal long enough that you can put the tooth on there and all that type of stuff. So the whole process probably took me about a year, but they worked with me great on it.
Like I say, it was a little nibble here and a little nibble there, but I just went ahead and we did everything right up front, and that made it easy. He could do what he had to do as he could do it and I didn’t have to pick and choose what I wanted done. He’d done what he knew needed to be done. And so it was simple for me. They laid it all out for me and gave me a game plan. You know, I knew what everything was going to cost and what I was going to kind of go through in the process. And it wasn’t just, hey, in a week I’m going to have new teeth. But when I left out of here, I had a set of new temporary teeth, which I was totally surprised. And they looked real. Looked like my real ones. I had a lot of people who thought I’d already gotten my teeth.
I belong to an art group and went up to paint with them and they were like, “Wow, man, you already got your new teeth.” I’m like, “No, these are temporary.” But they look good. So even when I walked out of here, right off the bat after really my first trip over here, I walked out with a nice-looking set of teeth. So I was happy from the get-go. You know, it felt good just leaving out, you know, and I could smile. I was like, “Dang, I got a white smile.”
So the whole experience for me has been a good experience. I’d recommend them to anybody. I’ve had my dad over here if that’ll tell you anything. So wouldn’t recommend him to come just to anybody. So anyway, I’m pleased with Dr. Hay. He’s done a good job. I feel like he’s a friend to an extent. You know, we’ve built a relationship as he’s done this. And like I say, he calls me and talks to me afterwards. And, you know, who does that? What doctor does that? You know, I mean, I ain’t had any other doctor do that for me. So makes you feel like you’re more than just a patient, you know, part of the family, maybe kind of.

It was just years of not doing what I should have been doing. And I let it go long enough to where I needed to get things back in order. And I come in and talk to Dr. Hay and some of the staff and everything seemed like what I wanted. I had no clue what could be done. And he gave me several options, and the options that I took for my situation just worked out good for me. So I mean, he put my mind at ease on all the options that we could do. So that was the thing. He made it easy for me to decide, no pressure. He said, “Here’s your options, here’s what you can do. It’s your call.” And I made the call, he done the work, and he does great work.
I’m thinking I had three root canals and three crowns. And I think I had maybe six to seven veneers. He put the temporaries in and everything that particular day and he ended up making a bridge for me on my right side, and all of that has just worked out perfect.
I’ve got a lot of compliments on my smile and on my teeth actually. I mean, it’s come from some strange places. If you go in and have surgery or anything, they check and see if you have dentures. And they want you to open up your mouth and they wanna look and they look in there to make sure I’m not telling a fib and they say, “Man, you have a beautiful mouth.” Well, I’ve got a guy to thank for that. And like I said, I’ve got compliments on my smile that I’ve never gotten before. So it’s all been a good experience for me.
I chose the sedation dentistry and it’s really worked out well for me. And I’ll do it just about every time if I have anything lengthy. It’s been a good experience. They do a great job. When I wake up, it’s done. And I’ve never had pain.

I was very nervous when I came. I have a little bit of an anxiety issue. Some of that’s because of my blood pressure. But as time went on, I think I’ve had some health issues and I think medicine began to make the teeth look aging too. But then they started cracking and all, you know. Once I came here and I got these first eight put in instantly, I felt like a new woman.
And then my daughter came to visit and it just overwhelmed her because she said, “Oh, mom, I’m so happy for you. You look so pretty,” you know. And that made me feel good because I can smile again, you know. I didn’t want people always thinking I was sad all the time because they’d think something was wrong if I wasn’t smiling when I was just fine. I just didn’t want to show my teeth. And now I smile all the time, and I’ve advised my cousin to come. So she’s got that on her list.

I had had discoloration on my teeth from a young age from medicine that I took as a child, and I had several teeth that were chipped, just even some I didn’t know were chipped but they were. On the x-ray, you can see. And I just was at a point, after I retired, where my husband and I could afford to do it and that was something I’d always wanted to do it but it wasn’t really about vanity, it was more about just having the self-confidence to be able to smile. And that’s not something you can just walk in a store and buy, you know.
And also, getting older, I wanted to have the ability to chew my food well without choking or whatever. And that becomes more important the older you get too. So it was just a good time to do it.
I was fortunate at my age that I still had good bone and I had a lot of bone loss and he said I have the ability to grow bone well still. So that’s why I think the process went so well for me too. I didn’t have… I know I’d heard of people having failed bone grafts and all this but I didn’t have to deal with any of that.
I did veneers and implants. I have five implants in the back. They did a bridge on this side. I was missing a tooth there. I had several teeth that I had pulled to the back. And so that was basically it. I was self-conscious about it for a long time. So I didn’t smile a lot in pictures or if I did I didn’t show my teeth, you know, and now I can do that.

I’m a long-time patient of Dr. Hay, and there are a lot of reasons that I’ve come here. I’m going to give you the long version. The front office staff is very friendly and respectful, and they also are efficient in filing the paperwork. And there’s not a lot of wait time when you come here. The clinical staff focuses on patient teaching and preventive healthcare, which I think is very important.
And then if you have a procedure done, you’re treated like you’re at a spa. You have a warm blanket to put on you and soft music in the background and that sort of thing. But the most important reason that I keep coming back year after year is Dr. Hay. He is an expert in his field, and I think what he does is blend the art and science of dentistry together to give the best results for his patients’ dental health.
He’s very gentle, and he gives you anticipatory guidance, you know, telling you what’s coming next. And all I have to do is raise a finger to let him know, you know, stop now or something. And I never feel uncomfortable.
The first thing is when I sign in, you know, things are not in chaos. It’s quiet here and calm. So that’s nice. And as I say, you’re called in almost immediately, so you’re not sitting out here wondering and waiting and worried. The staff pick up very quickly on cues that you’re anxious. And so I know that when I met the dental hygienist she knew all about me. You know, she was prepared. She knew all about me before I sat in that chair. And so she could converse with me and try to make me feel comfortable by asking me personal questions.

My teeth were starting to…well, they were getting smaller, I guess grinding down some and just coloration, you know, really changing colors. I guess maybe health issues have changed things. I don’t know. You know, I went through bladder cancer so I went through all that before this and it just seemed as I was aging everything was just changing real fast in my mouth and I had a lot of deterioration which… Like I said, I noticed a lot of people notice it when you were smiling and I got to where I never smiled as much and you’d cover your mouth and things like that. So I noticed.
I wanted to do something and it just took me a little time to bite the bullet and do it but I am so glad that I did. I’m really happy. It’s changed the quality of my life. It has. I had so many issues. I had him do the whole gauntlet basically of what was wrong with my mouth so I could kind of decide what I could do and what I couldn’t do. And I didn’t really know how much I had wrong. I didn’t know how many implants I would need. So yeah, I wanted the whole package and what the whole thing would do, what he could do for my whole mouth.
And then once I’d seen what he could do, then I thought it would be better for me to just tackle the whole thing than to nibble at it. So that was a step. And he kind of talked me through that and we talked about it and what he could do to help me on accomplishing that. And so anyway, that kind of worked with me and made it easy for me.
And it took a little while to get everything done, you know, to get all the implants in and everything, but once I got done, I can say I’ve been really pleased. I just can eat better. I couldn’t eat as well before because I had a loss of some teeth in the back. So it just changed all of that, like I say, and then, like I say, I feel so much better when I’m out and smile and I get compliments on it. So it makes me feel good. And like I say, it does build your self-esteem back up that you tend to lose when you start losing your parents as you age.

The thing that I really like about this place, I’ve thought about it many, many times, the quality. Number one, Dr. Hay, I think he really likes what he does. When you like what you do, you do a real good job at it. It means a lot. The staff, every one of them, they’ve always done a good job, from getting your teeth cleaned to anything in the office. Everything’s good. So I’ve had no complaints whatsoever. And every one of them take good care of me. So that’s why I’m here.
I’m really proud of what he does. He’s really helped me a lot. The thing he’s done for me, I have never in my life. I think back in 2017 was when I first came to him. Never before has anyone complimented my smile, but since then, I have heard that a lot. And that’s the absolute truth. So I’m pretty proud of that. And he should be too. They do good work. I’m telling you, the quality here is like I told you before. The man likes what he does. He enjoys his work. And you’re going to do a good job when you enjoy what you’re doing. And don’t get no better than that.

I have a natural droop to my smile. And so throughout life, I was always smiling all the time. And if I didn’t smile, people began to think something was wrong with me. As I began to age and grandchildren came into play, my grandson looked at me one day and he told me my teeth were ugly. And it kind of hurt my feelings a little bit, so I didn’t smile as often. And then one day, my front tooth just cracked and broke off and Frank advised me to come over here and brought me over. And the moment I walked in, there was such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. And to be totally honest, it just felt like people cared about you and that you was just part of their family. And I had never experienced that from a dentist office and I’ve been to several before.

And he said the first thing he wanted to do was take care of the front eight teeth. And that was just instantly done. And so from that moment on, I was on the road to better self-esteem and appearance and wasn’t afraid to smile no more, you know? And that right there does a lot for a person. A smile can open up many hearts. So, I think he’s just truly awesome. He was very explanatory. I was overwhelmed at his knowledge, you know, and the gentleness that he did everything with.
When I got to the chair, every time just about, they would put the blood pressure thing or whatever on you, and say, “Well, just sit there for a few minutes first, because mine would usually be a little high due to the dental anxiety.
