Dental Hygienist
Erica is passionate about helping patients protect their oral health and feel confident about their smiles. As a dental hygienist, she focuses on both treatment and education, empowering patients with the knowledge they need to maintain healthy smiles long after their appointment.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from Southern Illinois University in 2021 and holds certifications in general supervision, local anesthesia, and laser debridement. Erica joined the practice in 2025 and values building relationships with patients through thoughtful, personalized care.
Originally from Anna, Illinois, Erica enjoys unwinding outside the office by reading, spending time on the farm with her husband, watching football, and making memories with her family.
Nickie
Dental Assistant
Nickie plays an important role in helping patients feel comfortable and supported during their visits. As a dental assistant, she works closely with Dr. Hay during procedures, helping appointments run smoothly and ensuring patients feel cared for every step of the way.
Born and raised in southern Illinois, Nickie has been part of the team at Smiles by Hay for seven years. Her background in team sports, including playing basketball in high school and college, shows in the way she works alongside the clinical team to create a positive experience for patients.
Outside the office, Nickie enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid duck hunter. She is also involved in waterfowl conservation efforts.
Elyshia
Front Office
As one of the first voices you hear and faces you see at Smiles by Hay, Elyshia plays a key role in helping patients feel comfortable from the very first interaction. With over 12 years at the practice, she brings experience, familiarity, and a calm presence that helps patients feel at ease before their visit even begins.
Primarily based in the front office, Elyshia is always ready to step in wherever she is needed to keep the day running smoothly. Whether she is welcoming patients in person or helping them over the phone, her goal is to make every interaction friendly, clear, and stress free.
Originally from Bardwell, Kentucky, Elyshia now lives in Paducah. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs, traveling, and crafting.
Lori
Front Office
Lori is a vital part of the front office team and enjoys helping create a positive, well organized experience for every patient. She finds the most fulfillment in seeing patients feel confident in their care, schedules running smoothly, and smiles leaving the office.
Born and raised in northwestern Indiana, Lori moved to western Kentucky in 2000. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in social studies and political science from Indiana University and brings a strong people focused mindset to everything she does.
Her personal philosophy is simple and powerful: do what you love and do it well. Outside of work, Lori enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their two dogs. She is also an avid collector of vintage Coach handbags.
