We want your first visit to go as smoothly as possible. Many of our patients find that this commitment to quality makes us truly worth the trip. Your first consultation with our team will last around two hours, which allows us ample time for an in-depth discussion to make it your best dental visit yet.
What to Bring to Your First Appointment
- Your dental insurance card (if applicable)
- A list of any medications you are currently taking
- Any recent dental X-rays from a previous dentist (if available)
- Your completed new patient forms (see below)
- A list of any questions or concerns you have about your dental health
Arriving at Our Office
From the moment you step through our doors, you’ll be greeted by our friendly team with a handshake and a warm welcome.
We ask that you complete your new patient forms prior to your arrival, if possible.
If not, please arrive a few minutes early to fill them out in our office.

You’ll have the opportunity to speak with our dental team about your dental history, any concerns you have, and your personal goals for your smile and oral health. Dr. Hay takes his time, in no rush, to listen attentively and understand your unique situation.
Comprehensive Oral Health Examination
Our detailed, two-hour exam goes beyond the surface. It typically includes digital imaging to help us detect issues not visible to the naked eye, an intraoral scan to show you real-time images of your teeth and gums, and a thorough examination to assess your teeth, gums, jaw, bite, all at once, while screening for oral cancer and other conditions.
Personalized Treatment Planning
Based on our findings and your input, Dr. Hay will share everything that can be done for your oral health. We’ll present all viable treatment options, explain them clearly, and answer any questions you may have, including how different options might align with your income and insurance considerations. Our aim is to co-create a treatment plan that aligns with your health needs, lifestyle, and financial considerations.

Before you leave, we’ll schedule your next appointment if needed, and our team will work with you to get you started on the treatment you need as soon as possible.
